There are many symbols associated with a wedding — the dress, the rings, the altar — but they’re ultimately window dressing. A wedding is an event; a marriage is a life.
It’s a big decision, to share your life, and anyone who feels otherwise should share their anti-anxiety medication with the rest of the class.
But on the day of our wedding, with friends and family watching, and the spotlight on the two of us, I felt nothing but reassurance. From our friends who had traveled many miles, from our families who have been supporting us since before we had words for it, and from each other.
As Julia walked down the aisle, everything else blurred at her edges as I was overcome by the beauty of the moment.
I’ll remember the smiles, handshakes, and toasts, and I’ll proudly wear my ring and break out the favors and photos from time to time.
But what I’ll always carry with me is the utter certainty I felt as my future walked toward me and the simple fact that it could never have been anyone else.
You both radiate love which will continue to grow and grow
Beautiful. Mazel tov to you and Julia ❤️
